What happened to having an option to be able to search by just titles, just message body, or both? I find much more relevent information when I just search titles rather than all the message bodies, it weeds out a lot of unwanted results.
Some users have asked for this as well, just curious as to why this isn't an option in threads?

I agree. Searches in UBBThreads are too limited. Search of posts should have lots more options: Forum to search: [_________________________] Text to search: [_________________________] [:"blue"]In: [ ]Body [ ]Title [x]Both[/] Search options: [Entire Phrase/And/Or/[:"#666666"]By Username*[/] ] [:"blue"]Posted by: [_________________________] (all if not specified)[/] Date Range: [____________] Number of results to show per page: [___] [:"#666666"]*By Username[/]: this one I think could be removed. Its a search of all posts by the username that is put into "Text to search", that is not the expected behavior. And it wouldnt be needed if [:"blue"]Posted by: [___][/] was an option. Related Suggestion: a [b]Profile Search[/b] is needed as well.

ummmm lets not get carried to far away yet...  This only allows the user to chose to search by subject or body or both. I'm sure more options will pop up as time goes on.

I was just looking over things and I think it will be simple enough to change things so that the username would be a seperate field to fill in. If this field is not left empty the query will include having related information needing to be posted by the specified username no matter what your searching through.
Did that make sense?

Ok this little hack will now include being able to specify searching by subject, body or both. If username is given then all searches will return posts by the specified user with the given search criteria.

We already did such a hack, but we hadn't time to document that yet.
I could send the files, if someone needs it.
I don't have the time to write instructions at the moment.

I have the hack finished and documented. I just had a question for Rick regarding something I think is an error or something like that. I'm waiting to see if I'm fixing an error with this hack also or creating one... LoL
I'm sure he will see my PM today and let me know.

I doubt it. All the 6.2 mods are posted with 6.2 in the title of the post in the mods forum.
